About

I'm Chuck Choukalos, an executive product leader with over 20 years of experience across hardware, software, and everything in between. I founded Blue Bovine Group to bring a builder's perspective to organizations that need clear thinking and execution.

I've worked across a wide range of businesses, industries, and functions. I designed microprocessors at IBM, built supply chain processes and analytics at AMD, and handled marketing finance at Samsung. As Principal Product Manager at Magento, I led the platform transformation from 1.x to 2.x โ€” taking a legacy LAMP stack and modernizing it to meet twelve-factor app criteria for contemporary development and deployment. Most recently, I've led consumer product teams at Comcast across the Xfinity Smart Home line, the Shield family, and Xfinity Home security.

From startups to original dot coms like eBay to Fortune 50s across multiple industries, the pattern is the same: I find painful customer problems and build solutions that work. I can stand in front of engineers at Magento or Rackspace and talk architecture and deployment. I can pitch leadership teams at Comcast or Samsung on where to invest resources to hit business outcomes. I move between those rooms because I understand what they're each talking about.

That fluency comes from both experience and education. I hold a BSEE from Lehigh University, an MSEE from the University of Vermont (microprocessor design and testability), and an MBA from UVM. I've worked technical, financial, marketing, supply chain, hardware, and software sides of the business. It lets me ask the right questions of engineering teams, challenge assumptions in the boardroom, and find solutions that actually ship.

Why I Consult

The best solutions aren't just technically sound โ€” they fit within the customer's broader business strategy. Too many product decisions happen in a vacuum. At the executive level, product leadership is about alignment: serving both what the customer needs and where the business is going. It's the intersection of strategy and execution โ€” and it's where I operate.

How I Work

  • Discovery first. โ€” Before any roadmap or architecture, I understand the problem space. I run discovery phases that bring engineering, UX, and product together and create room to find the best path.
  • Customer perspective. โ€” I put myself in the customer's shoes. Whether it's polling users about a feature or analyzing win/loss data, decisions are grounded in what the market actually needs.
  • Strategic alignment. โ€” Every recommendation ties back to corporate strategy and business goals. I don't just find what customers need โ€” I find solutions that fit within your direction, constraints, and timelines.
  • Practical AI. โ€” I use Claude and AI agents every day in my own work for discovery, research, and development. When I consult on AI, I draw from hands-on experience โ€” what works, what doesn't, and how to measure ROI.
  • Clarity over complexity. โ€” Good strategy should be explainable to anyone in the room. Plain-language thinking that aligns teams and drives action.
